Gander Amalgamated School, Gander, NL
Grade 3, 1949-50

This picture was donated by Jim Strong. It is a group shot of the grades 3 class at Gander Amalgamated School in 1949 - 50. I have attempted to identify all those in the photograph. If you place your cursor on the face of an individual in the photo (and you have a up-to-date browser) the name of that individual, preceeded by a number, should appear. If your memory is better than mine, I would appreciate you contacting me with the correct (or additional information) concerning the individuals in this photo. There are a lot of unknowns here, so I look forward to hearing from you.

Responses

Bruce Cater thinks, but he is not sure, that he is number 4 in the photo below. Marion Pardy stated that the boy next to Campbell Pritchett was someone named Percy. Jim Butler recalls a boy, Percy Tiller, who was a friend of his and lived on the Army Side during that time. So, number 15 could be Percy Tiller. Elizabeth (Bursey) Lyons identified number 23 as Jean Smart and suggested that number 35 is Ethel White.
