Murdo and I always thought of our students at Gander Academy as special. And you've proved it by those wonderful tributes. I was deeply moved by what each of you had to say, for you found Murdo to be special, and have fond memories of him though he only touched your lives for a few months. Maybe it was the rapport he had with his first class that kept him in Gander long enough for us to meet in October, 1959(polio, late start). He had intended to travel across Canada and perhaps settle in BC. Instead, we married in 1960, and he spent the rest of his life in Newfoundland!

I have received many, many expressions of sympathy since Murdo's death but none more uplifting than those of his former students on the GA website. Thank you everyone. The extended family and I appreciate what you had to say very much.
