Retired 2000 - Regional Director of Material Manager – Central East Health Board

Bio

After graduating high school, I attended Bishop Spencer College, St. John’s and then worked for ten years as secretary (to Les Gettel) with Allied Aviation.

I later spent eight years with a Peat, Marwick, Mitchell, a chartered accountant firm.  My final career step ended with the Central Health Board in a number of positions until I retired as Regional Director of Material Management in 2000.  Over the years I have done some public relations work and once wrote a column for the Gander Beacon.

I married John (Jack) Walsh in the late 50’s and we have two sons who live nearby and three grandchildren.  Jack worked with EPA and later with the Gander Town Police Department.  He passed away in September of 2007 and his father was once Section Foremen with the CNR and they lived nearby in one of the Railway houses.

I lived in Building 4 on the Army Side just down back of the Laundry & Dry Cleaners.  I am the sister of Joy (class of ’59) and Bonita (class of ’63).
