Bert Patey- Class of 1950
| Passed away peacefully at home in Sandy Cove, Newfoundland, Tuesday Jan 18th, 2011, Gilbert Ernest Patey, aged 78 years. Bert will always be remembered as a patient, generous man with a sense of humour, who didn't take life too seriously. He spent much of his working life in the airline industry before retiring in 1985. Bert loved to converse with people and was just as much at home chatting with a fisherman on a wharf as with a politician in a boardroom. His quiet presence will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. Left to mourn are his wife, Magdalen; son, Paul (Pam) ; daughters, Cindy, Carolyn (Bern) and Colleen (Neil); sister, Ruby; grandchildren Jessica, Jeffrey, Matthew, Lindsay, Brianna and Joel; and a wide circle of family and friends. A family memorial service will be held at Stacey's funeral home in Gander on Friday Jan 21st. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
