Judy A. Komand, 67, of New Tripoli, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, in St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown Campus. She was recently preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Poppy Komand, in June of 2006. She was born in Newfoundland, Canada, a daughter of Dulcie Normore-Carter of Moncton, New Brunwick, Canada, and the late Henry James Carter. She was most recently employed by Creative Kids North Day Care Center, New Tripoli. She was very proud of becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1995. She was a member of Northern Valley Evangelical Free Church, New Tripoli. Survivors: Mother; son, James A. Komand and his wife Susan of Mertztown; two granddaughters, Nikole S. and Melissa E. Komand; brother, Antony Bruce Carter of Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada; two sisters, Susan, wife of John McLellan of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada, Christine Carter of Moncton. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, Northern Valley Evangelical Free Church, 7343 Gun Club Rd., New Tripoli, with Pastor Norman C. Walker officiating. There will be a calling hour beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Arrangements, Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli.
